A Conversational Autoethnography on Experiencing Loss and Grief
ABSTRACT
In this collaborative autoethnographic chapter, the authors’ main goal is to show the potential of conversational autoethnography as ‘autoethnographicity.’ This is a life practice that in specific existential circumstances becomes research and vice versa. The main theme, based on their respective lived experiences, is the idea of loss and grief, covering the importance of finding support while being in a liminal state of life-crisis situations; and the significance of the imperative, after Ricoeur, of ‘living up to death.’ The authors also explore various meta-considerations regarding their autoethnographic dialogical stance.
